Information and Image
Country: Japan, 2000
Director: Matsubara Hiroshi, Endo Tamaki, Hirano Shunichi
Cast: Domoto Tsuyoshi, Hirosue Ryoko, Oguri Shun
Type: melodrama, romance
Rating:5/5

Summary: A 22-year old man, Natsuo (Domoto Tsuyoshi) is forced to grow up because his parents died. He has to take care of his younger bother, Jun (Oguri Shun) and his younger sister, Chika (Ikewaki Chizuru). Natsuo works at his family owned bike shop and puts family as number one. He meets Yuki (Hirosue Ryoko) a shy girl who has a heart problem and helps her take risks. Yuki also provides support to Natsuo when he has to deal problems within the family. He can be a very stubborn person, and Yuki helps him see the issues from a different angle and makes him more empathetic and caring.

Impression: I enjoyed this drama because it was so uplifting, even the ending (supposedly sad) still has a positive spin to it. I liked how the story flowed and how there were cliffhangers, but it worked well within the family. Also, each family member (Chika, Jun, etc) had main issues, as well, and they weren’t ignored. It wasn’t just about Natsuo and Yuki. I would watch this drama again.

hee hee, yeah, I was really shocked (and confused) at the unexpected ending. But it had a good ending (showed how people dealt with it and the summer snow!).
